Travel Itinerary

The First Day - From Dar es Salaam to the Selous Wildlife Sanctuary

We will convene at your accommodation in Dar es Salaam at 5:00 am before embarking on our journey to the Selous Game Reserve for an exciting game drive. Situated in the southern region of Tanzania, Selous Game Reserve stands as one of the most expansive wildlife sanctuaries globally. It owes its name to Sir Frederick Selous, an Englishman renowned for his prowess as a big game hunter and early dedication to conservation. His final moments occurred in this very land in 1917, as he fought against the Germans during World War I at Beho Beho. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982, Selous beckons with its rich biodiversity and unspoiled environment. This reserve teems with a diverse array of wildlife, including African bush elephants, black rhinos, hippos, Masai lions, East African wild dogs, cheetahs, Cape buffaloes, Masai giraffes, plains zebras, and crocodiles, all of which thrive in greater numbers here than in any other African game reserve or national park. Following our game drive, we will make our way to the camp for a satisfying dinner and an overnight stay.

The Second Day - Explore Selous on a Full-Day Safari Expedition

Following breakfast at 7:00 am, we will set off on a full-day safari adventure within the Selous Game Reserve aboard our sturdy 4x4 vehicle. Throughout the day, there will be ample opportunities to observe a diverse range of wildlife, from majestic members of the cat family like lions, cheetahs, and leopards to graceful elephants, antelopes, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and a myriad of bird species. Around noon, we will pause at a scenic picnic spot to enjoy a leisurely lunch before continuing our exploration. As the day draws to a close, we will make our way back to Selous Camp, where a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay await us.

The Third Day - Safari Adventure Combining Boat Ride and Walking Excursion

Following breakfast, set off on a scenic 2-hour drive to the designated meeting spot. From there, embark on a boat expedition along the Rufiji River for a wildlife safari experience, offering stunning sightings of various creatures inhabiting the river. Following the boat safari, partake in a guided walking safari before heading back to Dar es Salaam, where you will be transported back to your accommodation.
