Travel Itinerary
The First Day - Traveling from Dar Es Salaam to Udzungwa National Park
Begin your day bright and early at 4:00 AM with a hotel pickup in Dar es Salaam. Embark on a journey to Udzungwa National Park for a refreshing walking trek at Udzungwa Mountain, where you can marvel at the stunning Asanje waterfalls. During the walk, keep an eye out for some of the friendly animals that call this area home. The trek will last about 3 hours before you head to Mikumi. Upon arrival, settle in for a two-night stay at Camp Bastian with meals included.
The Second Day - Exploring Mikumi National Park Through a Comprehensive Driving Safari
Today promises to be an exciting day as we embark on a wildlife expedition in search of majestic felines such as lions and leopards, along with other unique creatures. Following a delicious breakfast, we will set out from the lodge with packed lunches towards Mikumi National Park, located just a short distance away. Upon reaching the park's entrance gate, we will complete the check-in process. Mikumi National Park, renowned as Tanzania's second most popular national park after Serengeti, offers abundant opportunities to witness a variety of wildlife, from herds of elephants, giraffes, impalas, and antelopes, to lions, wildebeests, buffalos, zebras, diverse bird species, and crocodiles. A break for a scrumptious lunch and refreshing beverages will be enjoyed at a designated resting spot around midday. The game drive will continue until late afternoon, before heading back to Camp Bastian for a satisfying dinner and overnight stay.
The Third Day - Exploring Maasai Culture at Dawn - Dar Es Salaam
Begin your day at 5:30 by waking up and getting ready to journey to a Maasai village. You will be accompanied by our driver as you venture into the bush to immerse yourself in the authentic Maasai culture. Upon reaching the village, you will have the opportunity to engage with the Maasai people, participating in traditional dances and gaining insights into their family dynamics, marriage customs, and economic activities aimed at sustaining their livelihoods. A knowledgeable Maasai individual fluent in English will be your guide throughout the visit. Around 8 am, you will return to the lodge for breakfast, where you can prepare to depart for Dar Es Salaam. You will then be dropped off at your hotel or the airport in Dar Es Salaam to conclude your experience.
